Want to enjoy the joys of the beach? Head to La Centrale, Hossegor's main beach. It is the largest and most popular beach in the resort. Plage Sud is also very popular with families looking for peace and wide-open spaces. There's a beach club for children and a swimming school there.
After swimming, you'll love strolling through Hossegor's town center, with a cone of chichis or a vanilla-strawberry ice cream in hand. Tante Jeanne's are to die for! The Place to Be? La Place des Landais with its beautiful shops, bars, and beachfront restaurant terraces.
World-Renowned Surf Spots
Hossegor is the European Surf Capital. Summer and winter, spots like La Graviรจre and "Culs Nus" attract the most experienced surfers. In fact, Hossegor hosts the world's surfing elite every year during the Quiksilver Pro France (October). And if you've chosen a campsite near Hossegor specifically to learn to surf, you'll easily find a surf school around La Centrale beach. The waves are very accessible, even for beginners.
Hossegor Lake: Beach, Hiking, and Oyster Tasting
If you like swimming but not too many waves, head to Hossegor's marine lake. No fewer than four supervised beaches are available to you. You can go sailing, water skiing, Hawaiian canoe, stand-up paddleboarding, paddle yoga, and pedal boating there.
By strolling along the marked trails (6 km) that go around the lake, you can admire the sumptuous villas surrounded by magnificent gardens, shaded by century-old pine and cork oak trees. At lunchtime, take a break to taste the famous Hossegor lake oysters. The campsite's favorite? The "Lou Casaou De Le Ma" hut located at the very end of the lake. In summer, you often have to queue, but you won't regret it!
Hossegor Golf Course: So British!
If you are a golf enthusiast, you won't come to Hossegor by chance. Designed by Arnaud Massy and Sir Morrison in 1927, the Hossegor Golf Course invites you to hit the ball on a typically British 18-hole course in the middle of the forest. Every summer, on the first weekend of August, the Hossegor Golf Course hosts the traditional Grand Prix des Landes, which brings together over 150 high-level amateur players on the green.
